Position Summary

GWx is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Mission Critical Engineering team. You will design sophisticated electrical infrastructure for AI campuses, hyperscale data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, and other mission-critical environments while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams from concept through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design Leadership

Engineering at GWx is about solving complex problems and delivering long-term value.

  • Design reliable medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems

  • Develop UPS, standby generation, grounding, bonding, lighting, emergency lighting, and life safety systems

  • Prepare one-line diagrams, specifications, calculations, and construction documents

  • Coordinate with architects and all engineering disciplines

  • Design for reliability, constructability, maintainability, flexibility, and lifecycle performance

Engineering Analysis & Technical Excellence

Engineer facilities that simply cannot fail through rigorous technical analysis.

  • Perform short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, voltage drop, harmonic, and equipment studies

  • Evaluate redundancy and resilience

  • Support value engineering without compromising reliability

Project Leadership & Delivery

Lead technical execution throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Participate in planning, design reviews, and client meetings

  • Coordinate with owners, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, perform site observations, and support commissioning

  • Support project managers with schedule and technical coordination

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with emerging technologies

  • Develop engineering best practices

  • Share technical knowledge

  • Pursue professional licensure and certifications

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Mentor junior engineers

  • Review technical work

  • Promote collaboration and continuous learning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 4–10+ years of consulting engineering experience

  • Working knowledge of the NEC

  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain

  • Mission Critical/Data Center experience

  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, AGi32, Bluebeam, and BIM360

  • Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, NETA, and Uptime methodologies

The anticipated base salary range for this position is provided in good faith and represents GWx's reasonable expectation for compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, technical expertise, professional licensure, certifications, geographic location, project experience, and overall qualifications. This position may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and other benefits.
